Bibble

This is a add-on program/replacement for the Nikon image handler `Capture'

It was written by a nice guy named Eric Hyman who is a pleasure to deal with. His program is inexpensive.

What I find I now `do' is this:

Take all images as .nef files - you have to set up CSM on the camera to use this format

Fix the image.lst file so that the thumbnail in Capture is the same as the file number for each .nef

Download from D1 via Capture which creates .ipi files for you

Open in PhotoShop using Bibble plug-in which permits correction and color space handling

I usually use some sharpening (essential)

The great thing about Bibble is he addresses the camera results often found when a mistake is made

eg there is Magenta fix and WB re-do

Save PhotoShop fiddled image as .tif - or .jpeg for the web (this permits re-opening .nef if required)
